Hello family and friends!
As you know, spring festival was this weekend, and today we went to the lagoon and watched snow machine races and a whaling crew tea race. We were also able to do some sledding on the kid hill. We decided that we were not ready for the adult hill because our sled was a little too small for all of us (the picture explains it better). It was a beautiful sunny day and an eventful afternoon to say the least- Rach has the tan lines to prove it :) We also saw where Steve works and his apartment. They have very nice housing available here! After the festivities we all had dinner back at our dorms- great meal as always. We chatted with some scientists that are doing research in Barrow. We will be having dinner with them tomorrow night, and hopefully getting involved in some of their weekend excursions.
This week the ladies at the middle school will start co-teaching and taking it on solo by the end of the week- wish us luck! We have to start right away because the 8th graders have a promotion ceremony the last week we are here, and we will not be able to teach during that time. We also have our supervisors coming on wednesday for a week- time is flying by.
I feel rested from my basketball game (thanks Justin) and a few of us might be joining an intramural soccer league on Sundays. We watched them play today in the afternoon, and we think we will be able to hold our own- ha NOT- but it would be a fun time. Well, back to lesson planning. Hope everyone is well!
Molly
